In January 2025, the federal Truck Leasing Task Force — created by Congress under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — released its findings on predatory lease-purchase programs used by motor carriers across the country.
The Task Force concluded unanimously that these programs cause widespread harm to drivers and recommended they be prohibited.
